Does America have maternal child and health nurses?

In oz we have these nurses who we see right after the child is born and then when the child is 2 weeks then 4 weeks, then 4 months then 8 months and a few other times up untill the age of 3.5 years. Do u have those in america cause it seems as if you don't.|||Generally no, but some hospitals do have programs where they have a nurse come out if you had an early discharge from the hospital. Here you bring your child in to the doctor, rather than someone coming to you.|||We have well baby checkups with our child's pediatrician. They are weighed and all that good stuff and get their immunizations. They are normally about the same agewise as when your's sees the nurse.|||What you're describing sounds like our Nurse Practitioners who will see kids for well checks to sick visits and everything in between. NPs are utilized in many busy doctors offices and can make diagnosis, order tests and prescribe medications but must practice under close supervision of a physician.|||Those who can afford to pay for it could have such a thing if they wish.
