Can you think of a short term health condition that a child may have?

Oh yeah, and it has to be something that enables me to write about diagnosis, treatment etc.

Please help...its for an assignment! I've written about a long term condition for an older person, but now I need a short term health condition for a child! I thought about influenza, but you cant exactly be diagnosed for it lol.

Please help!

Thanks in advance x|||Chickenpox is a good one as someone mentioned. But you can diagnose influenza. They swab your nasal passages and can tell you if its flu and even which strain you have, A or B.

You can also do croup, fifth's disease, mumps, measles, rubella. You can do otitis media (ear infection). Another one is meningitis, which is very interesting.|||chickenpox|||Varicella Zoster? (Chicken pox)|||Measles. Mumps. Meningitis.

Meningitis will probably give you a lot to talk about.|||eczema, that is if you find the right way to treat it like I had to, or it will be longterm.|||influenza can be diagnosed with a test done by nasal swab|||Whooping cough

appendicitis ( tricky one to diagnose, and yes, children do get it. My brother did, for one)

Scarlet fever

Diptheria ( rare these days)|||Young children often suffer with ear infections, especially when they are at the teething stage and having tonsil problems. Perhaps that could provide the info you need - they can be diagnosed with ear problems as they would require antibiotic and can only get it from a gp.
